Nuremberg Airport Introduces Exciting New Winter Travel Destination

Nuremberg Airport has recently unveiled its winter flight schedule for 2024/25, featuring a new addition to its list of travel destinations for the cold season. Among the destinations now available is a Portuguese island, offering travelers the opportunity to escape the winter chill and enjoy a sunny getaway.

The new winter flight schedule for 2024/25 at Nuremberg Airport is now accessible to the public. The airport team is promoting the idea of “sand beaches instead of snow showers” on their website. From October 28, 2024, to March 30, 2025, passengers can once again reach numerous “sun destinations” via direct flights and “extend their summer,” according to the airport.

Jan Beinßen, spokesperson for the airport, highlighted the focus on “warm-water destinations” in the winter flight schedule, emphasizing the popularity of city breaks among winter travelers as well. The winter flight schedule for 2024/25 from Nuremberg Airport includes a range of destinations in Spain, Egypt, and Turkey, known for their mild temperatures even during the winter months. Passengers can enjoy direct flights from Nuremberg to Hurghada, Gran Canaria, Mallorca, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, as well as popular European cities like Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Budapest.

A notable addition to the winter flight schedule is the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean, where travelers can bask in the sunshine even during the winter months. Madeira is known for its mild winters and lush plant life year-round, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees Celsius well into October. Even in winter, temperatures remain around 20 degrees Celsius, though visitors should be prepared for occasional rain showers.

Nature enthusiasts can explore the approximately 20-million-year-old laurel forest on Madeira and enjoy breathtaking views of the sea and mountains from various vantage points, as recommended by the Madeira Promotion Office. The recent forest fire that broke out on August 14, 2024, has been brought under control with the assistance of aircraft from Spain. In addition to its dark pebble beaches, Madeira also offers sandy beaches for visitors to enjoy. The island is rich in cultural experiences, including folklore, handicrafts, and traditional embroidery. While direct flights to Ibiza are currently unavailable, Condor plans to resume flights to the Balearic Island next year.

For travelers seeking a unique winter escape, Nuremberg Airport’s new winter flight schedule for 2024/25 offers a diverse range of destinations to explore. Whether it’s soaking up the sun on a Portuguese island or exploring historic European cities, there’s something for every type of traveler to enjoy. Start planning your winter getaway today and make the most of the season with a memorable vacation experience.
