Air Cairo, a popular Egyptian airline, has officially launched its new route from Cologne Bonn Airport to Cairo. The inaugural flight took off on Sunday, October 27th, at 11:40 am. The airline will now offer two weekly flights from Cologne/Bonn to Cairo, operating on Thursdays and Sundays.
Thilo Schmid, the CEO of Cologne Bonn Airport, expressed his excitement about the new route, highlighting Cairo’s rich history and iconic landmarks such as the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. He mentioned that Egypt is a popular destination for travelers, especially during the autumn and winter months, making the new Air Cairo route a great addition to the airport’s flight schedule.
Cairo is a city with a diverse past, dating back to ancient times and boasting an impressive UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town. In addition to its historical significance, Cairo is also a modern hub in the Arab world, known for its skyscrapers, contemporary hotels, and vibrant cultural and nightlife scene.
Flights from Cologne/Bonn to Cairo will depart on Thursdays at 2:40 pm and Sundays at 11:40 am, with a flight time of approximately four hours. The return flights to Cologne/Bonn are also scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays. Air Cairo will operate Airbus A320 aircraft for these flights, and tickets can be booked on their website.
In addition to Cairo, Air Cairo also flies from Cologne/Bonn to two other destinations in Egypt year-round: Hurghada and Marsa Alam. The airline, founded in 2003, has experienced steady growth over the years and has carried more than 20 million passengers.
