Expansion of Air France’s Winter Destination Network
Air France is gearing up to offer an extensive range of destinations during the upcoming winter season from November 2024 to March 2025. The airline plans to serve a total of 169 destinations in 73 countries, including 85 long-haul destinations and 84 short- and medium-haul destinations. This expansion demonstrates Air France’s commitment to providing travelers with a diverse array of options for their winter travel plans.
New Long-Haul Destinations
Among the new additions to Air France’s long-haul network is Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Starting from November 18, 2024, the airline will operate three weekly flights to Kilimanjaro using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This route complements the existing service to Zanzibar, offering travelers more options for exploring East Africa’s stunning landscapes and wildlife.
Another exciting destination on Air France’s winter schedule is Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. With three weekly flights commencing on October 28, 2024, using the Airbus A350-900, Salvador de Bahia becomes the fifth Brazilian city served by Air France, joining Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, and Belem. The increased frequencies to Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza, with up to ten and five flights per week respectively, reflect the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in the region.
Air France is also launching new services to Manila in the Philippines, with three weekly flights starting on December 7, 2024, operated by the A350-900 aircraft. By coordinating schedules with KLM, which offers four weekly flights from Amsterdam-Schiphol to Manila with the Boeing 787-9, Air France-KLM Group will provide daily connections to the vibrant capital city. The addition of Manila strengthens Air France’s Asian network, which includes popular destinations like Tokyo Haneda, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, and Ho Chi Minh City.
For travelers seeking a tropical getaway, Air France will operate up to two weekly flights to Malé in the Maldives during the holiday season from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, using the Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft. This seasonal service offers passengers a chance to escape the winter cold and enjoy the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of this idyllic destination.
Enhanced Services in the Caribbean and North America
In the Caribbean region, Air France will increase its offerings to Saint-Martin with two daily flights using the Airbus A330-200 aircraft starting from December 20, 2024. The expanded service to this popular vacation spot highlights the airline’s commitment to providing convenient travel options for leisure travelers.
Expanding its presence in North America, Air France will operate 235 weekly flights to 23 destinations across the continent during the winter season. The airline will introduce new services to Denver, Colorado, and Phoenix, Arizona, with three weekly flights each from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. These additions signify Air France’s efforts to cater to the diverse travel needs of passengers seeking to explore the United States’ breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cities.
Focus on Medium-Haul Destinations and Seasonal Offerings
Air France is also focusing on strengthening its connections to Northern Europe during the winter season. The introduction of a new route to Kiruna in Sweden marks the fifth destination in Lapland served by the airline, alongside Rovaniemi and Kittilä in Finland, Tromsø in Norway, and Narvik Lofoten in Norway (operated only in the summer). From December 21, 2024, to March 8, 2025, Air France will offer weekly flights to Kiruna using the Airbus A319 aircraft, providing travelers with access to the picturesque landscapes and winter activities of the region.
In addition to expanding its year-round destinations, Air France will offer seasonal flights to destinations that were previously only served in the summer. For example, travelers can now enjoy up to three weekly flights to Tangier, Morocco, from December 22, 2024, to January 3, 2025, providing a unique opportunity to explore this historic city during the winter months.
Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group, will also play a key role in winter travel with flights to 102 destinations in 20 countries on 172 routes. This extensive network offers budget-conscious travelers a wide range of options for exploring Europe and beyond.
As Air France prepares to launch its winter schedule, passengers can look forward to a diverse range of destinations across the globe, with enhanced services to key regions and new routes to exciting locales. Whether travelers are seeking a tropical escape, a cultural adventure, or a winter wonderland experience, Air France’s winter network offers something for everyone.
