EA SPORTS NHL 25 has announced a significant holiday update that will introduce the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) into the game, showcasing EA SPORTS’ commitment to developing and promoting women’s sports in their games.

Starting on December 5th, NHL 25 players will be able to experience the PWHL in the game, featuring six teams including the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres in modes like Play Now, Online Versus, Shootout, and Season. Additionally, PWHL uniforms will be available in World of Chel along with players, logos, and uniforms in Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT). To provide an authentic PWHL experience, the update will include the Walter Cup and advanced skeletons through the integration of SAPIEN technology.

Amy Scheer, the PWHL’s Senior Vice President of Business Operations, expressed excitement about the partnership with EA SPORTS, emphasizing the importance of elevating women’s hockey at all levels. Andrea Hopelain, EA SPORTS’ GM and SVP of Publishing, highlighted their pride in supporting the PWHL and their commitment to promoting women’s hockey globally.

The inclusion of the PWHL in NHL 25 reflects EA SPORTS’ ongoing dedication to authentically representing and developing women’s sports in their games. Building on the introduction of women’s sports in NHL 22 through a partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation, the Toronto Sceptres’ forward Sarah Nurse was selected as the cover athlete the following year to celebrate the Sceptres’ inclusion in Hockey Ultimate Team. The addition of PWHL teams and players complements the recent introduction of women’s leagues and features in EA SPORTS FC™, UFC, and PGA TOUR.

In addition to the PWHL integration, NHL 25 will offer a wide range of new holiday content, including the NHL Arcade series and the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. NHL Arcade events will provide players with a unique arcade-style 3-on-3 experience with various bonuses and features, while the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off will showcase international teams in a round-robin tournament format.

Players who engage with NHL 25 between November 15th and January 2nd will receive exclusive in-game items and packs, allowing them to participate in special events and represent their favorite nations. The holiday content and offers in NHL 25 aim to enhance the player experience and provide new ways to engage with the exciting world of hockey.

With EA SPORTS NHL 25 available worldwide on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, players can look forward to immersing themselves in the thrilling hockey experience and exploring the diverse content and features introduced in the game.
